Val Di Mello

We are now in Val Di Mello, a rugged valley on the Swiss-Italian border.  There are jagged snow-capped peaks towering over a pristine valley with giant granite boulders scattered perfectly over the greenest pastures and a crystal clear river running through the middle.  The setting could not be more stunning.

I am not normally very motivated to go bouldering, but the good company and beautiful atmosphere was inspiring and refreshing.  We are here with the TNF Europe team for the Melloblocco event.  Over 2,000 climbers from all over came for the weekend to boulder and socialize.  Unfortunately, the weather has not cooperated very well and it has rained on and off the past 2 days.  We have made the most of it though and tried our best to find dry rock to climb on.  Despite the somewhat damp and messy conditions, we’ve managed to climb some brilliant problems.
